About Jim and Ann
Ann and I have always found cooking as a means of relaxation and artistic expression. After retiring from our previous careers we now have the time to really enjoy our passion.
I was an engineer on ships sailing the Great Lakes and the Oceans, and Ann was an IT specialist and software developer for American Express. While sailing the world I fell in love with the vast array of food I was able to sample, especially the fresh pasta in Italy.
When I had the chance to purchase a pasta machine I was excited since there was not much fresh pasta available locally. So we begin to produce a variety of fresh pastas and sell them to local specialty shops. To promote the pasta I prepared some of my favorite dishes and had samples at the farmers market. The response was so positive Ann and I decided to open our own restaurant, and Spaghetti Jim’s was born.
We are a perfect complement to each other since I love being creative with the pastas and the savory side, and Ann is such a gifted baker so she works her magic with the deserts. I cannot think of a better retirement than spending my days alongside my wife of over 25 years, cooking the food I love, and making new friends.
